Globally more innovations are coming down on daily workout to save our earth from drastic global warming.There are many innovations for renewable energy sector.of course few are less cost effective and few are more cost in production.
If we take Tidal waves. in many countries the process of energy generation is taking place using tidal waves, but more cost effective way of generation of energy has to come effective in future.
What is tidal energy?
Tidal energy is one of the oldest forms of energy used by humans. Indeed, tide mills, in use on the Spanish, French and British coasts, date back to 787 A.D.. Tide mills consisted of a storage pond, filled by the incoming (flood) tide through a sluice and emptied during the outgoing (ebb) tide through a water wheel. The tides turned waterwheels, producing mechanical power to mill grain. We even have one remaining in New York- which worked well into the 20th century.
Tidal power is non-polluting, reliable and predictable.Tidal barrages, undersea tidal turbines – like wind turbines but driven by the sea – and a variety of machines harnessing undersea currents are under development. Unlike wind and waves, tidal currents are entirely predictable.
What is the impact on the environment?
Tidal energy is a renewable source of electricity which does not result in the emission of gases responsible for global warming or acid rain associated with fossil fuel generated electricity. Use of tidal energy could also decrease the need for nuclear power, with its associated radiation risks. Changing tidal flows by damming a bay or estuary could, however, result in negative impacts on aquatic and shoreline ecosystems, as well as navigation and recreation.
Why tidal energy?
The demand for electricity on an electrical grid varies with the time of day. The supply of electricity from a tidal power plant will never match the demand on a system.
But, due to the lunar cycle and gravity, tidal currents, although variable, are reliable and predictable and their power can make a valuable contribution to an electrical system which has a variety of sources.
Tidal electricity can be used to displace electricity which would otherwise be generated by fossil fuel (coal, oil, natural gas) fired power plants, thus reducing emissions of greenhouse and acid gasses.
Tidal wave energy, also called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into electricity or other useful forms of power.
Although not yet widely used, tidal power has a huge potential for future electricity generation. Tides are more predictable than wind energy and solar power. Among sources of renewable energy, tidal power has suffered from high cost and limited availability of sites with sufficiently high tidal ranges. However, many recent technological developments and improvements, both in design and turbine technology, indicate that the total availability of tidal power may be much higher than previously assumed, and that economic and environmental costs may be brought down to competitive levels.

From what I gather from reading various sources on the Internet on this subject is that it is a welcome addition of alternative energy. Oregon needs more engineering type jobs that this engineering and energy type jobs that this industry will create. However, their are some concerns from
commercial and local fisherman as well as some marine life concerns over the placement of these buoy’s. Not very much is known on the impacts will be to marine life or on seabeds and shorelines. In general though, my perception of OPT is committed to the environment and that they will work with local groups to alleviate any issues that may come up in the future.
I believe that tidal wave energy is literally the future of alternative energy. It is a reliable constant form of energy that gives it a major advantage over solar and wind. Once this technology is perfected, it will be a greater part of the energy portfolio in Oregon, and it will be needed since Oregon’s Coal Boardman Plant will be shutting down in 2020.
